This post is for ppl who spend (read waste) a lot of time in orkut.

"தமிழ் bloggers" னு ஒரு கம்யூனிட்டியே இருக்கே !!!

ஓகே. சொல்ல வந்தது இதத்தான்.

************* BEWARE OF HACKERS IN ORKUT **************
Since orkut is very heavily used , there are lots of hackers around who
would participate in communities that you join,become friends with you
and later send you a link which asks you to login to orkut. Thats the
catch !!!

The link he sends will be a fake one and will be very similar to any other
"orkut" link. The login page will be a "look-alike" of an orkut login page.
Once you provide your login details, you are royally HACKED.
Ur username/pwd does not goto ORKUT but goes to the hands of the
hacker. In security jargons, this is called as PHISING. (i think so???)

This happens mostly with community owners. I know of a "Rahul
Dravid" community and a "hinduism" community that was hacked by
some supposedly Paki to spread ill messages.

Being a community owner myself, i have started to become extra
cautious of whatever link i click in orkut. Just wanted to spread the
message though i am a bit late :(

Following is the scenario and the steps to avoid it.


HOW THEY HACK??

step 1: If u happen to be a moderator the u will get a scrap or message
something like this..

owner of the community "INDIA" (note : In the link,its orkuft
not orkut)

step 2: when u click on the link you will get a FAKE orkut page
asking you to LOGIN!

step 3: if you login in to that page,then your login and password will be
submitted to the hacker's database.

step 4: you will be redirected to the original orkut page after the
above 3 steps, so that one will not get any doubt.
so when you login this time you will be logged in to orkut,but ur
password is already hacked!!

step 5: your communiy ownership will be transfered and ur account
will be deleted.


So, beware guys :)
