நான் இந்தியாவுல driving license வாங்கும்போது (எட்டு
வருஷத்துக்கு முன்னாடி) கார் ஓட்டினதோட சரி. இந்த ஊர்
driving/rules/police-கு எல்லாம் நான் புதுசு. ஒரு நாள் நானும்
என்னோட நண்பரும் ஒரு Highway-ல போயிட்டு இருந்தோம்.
நான் தான் Driver. நம்ம நண்பர் தான் நமக்கு senior ஆச்சே,
அவருகிட்ட இந்த ஊர் மாமா எல்லாம் எப்பிடி-னு
தெரிஞ்சிக்கலாம்னு கேட்டேன்.


"சந்திரமுகி" படத்துல நம்ம கைப்புள்ள தலைவர்கிட்ட
'பேய்' பத்தி கேக்குற அதே scene.

இதெல்லாம் என் மனசுல ஓடும்போது... பின்னாடி இருந்து
2 exit-கு கேக்குற அளவுக்கு ஒரு பெரிய horn sound வேற...

தீந்தோம்டா இன்னைக்கு-னு right indicator-a போட்டுட்டு,
எல்லா mirrors-m பாத்துட்டு, "over the shoulder" பாத்துட்டு,
அடுத்த lane போனேன்.

நண்பர்: ஓ... சனியன் சடை பின்னி , பொட்டு வச்சி, பூவே
வச்சிருச்சி... இதுல rules வேறயா?

If you are still in Diwali mood, please don’t read the following review, After the
major downfall of Ajith’s tirupathi by its director..per ..per ..perarasu….he was
thinking who could he terminate next and ..yes….he got our captain and that’s the
evolution of a legendary universal(tamil) film “DHARMAPURI”…

Precautionary steps to watch this film:

1.Four pieces of cotton…(2 to keep in ears…and the rest 2 will be kept in
our noses after we watch the film fully)
2. zandu balm,tiger balm..if possible original time bomb.
3. itch guard (b’cos paadhi padam paarthu namaku udambellam pull’arikum’).

Actors:

Captain Vijaykanth(3/4 screen…),Heroine-achacho paavam(not even 4
scenes including songs),comedy..all scenes where captain comes becomes
comedy to the core.All other vetti actors(donno what they do � time).

Moments of the film:

1.Captain’s intro:----- NO ever Indian..oops..hollywood film could ever
try such imagination to project his hero to this level as perarasu does.
(u deserve an applause..).while all his partymen,first bench fans,wait for
his entry in screen..there comes captain to save a minister’s girl from a
rowdy in rameswaram..rowdy threatens everyone including policemen
nearby with his gun and no one goes near him(obvious..)Captain looks
at him,goes nearhim barehanded. The rowdy warns him 3 times(Indian
cinema rule..not more than 3) and then shoots at him..the bullet hits
vijaykanth’s chest…and reflects back and hits the rowdy’s chest
and kills him…Please wait…don’t get astonished.then he takes out the
“archani plate”he hids in his shirt(what a archanai thattu..if u can get for
10 rs.it acts as bullet proof and cd save ur life).

Advice to all military forces:please dismantle all ur bullet proof shields and
get archanai thattu’s for them. cost cutting one.

2.most of the film people are doing silly things and no body including
captain doesn’t understands why they r doing such thing.if time permits
captain gets his costume change and start performing exercises..iam sorry..
dances.. and 30 to 40 dancers surround him and shout”neenga thaan
nallavar, neenga thaan vallavar, neenga naaliku CM, morningna AM,eveningna
PM”…happa horrible torture and where on earth his costumes are picked up…
fluorescent coloured shirt specially and he makes to a point that in all scenes
including his duet or romantic scene his party’s “flaming torch”symbol is
projected well.And a grand make up like rajkiran with a big crown on his
head and sandal on his body(weak hearted people pls omit the scene)

3. Half the film is like assembly meetings and virudhachalam campaign
speeches.and everybody including the villain praises him.
“naan adangi poravan illai adakitu poravan”
“ivaru kootani vaika maatar,thani aala thaan irupaar”
“ennai nambuna nambikai..mathavangalukku etcharikai(thumbikkai)”
"ivar naadodi illai….naadodi mannan”..

When u atleast have the peace that the director Perarasu didn’t act in this
film as he did in tirupathi….after interval even that dream goes crashed..
oops.here we have his entry as “Speed”lawyer perarasu.he comes and
says”naan porandha edam sivakasi, valarandha idam tirupachi, pona idam
tirupathi,ipo nikaradhu dharmapuri”innum neraya idam poven….(oh god
we are done for…mokkanayakanur,paanaampati,paradesipalayam..lots
to come ). Soon he will become best competitor of T rajendhar.

Note:- don’t miss the scene where captain hits 50 men in a row with a
single kick which even matrix Keanu reaves couldn’t get it right. And als
the scene where captain blasts 1000 figure bombs(kanni vedi.he..he)
with his small remote control which we use for MP3 players in car’s.
(technology drives…)

Iam sorry guys(?????)I didn’t see the climax, I came away � hr before
climax as I was in a mood to hit my head somewhere and cry badly seeing this.

Last but not least “Dharma puri”---poisonous pani puri. Die another day.

Having (re)started to blog... not putting a post for Diwali is considered
crime and not fulfulling your social responsibility. So, here i am :)

I hope everyone had a blasting and a colorful Diwali. I hope my friends
in India got time to spend this Diwali with their families and relatives
and not with their laptops and PM/PLs. For my friends here in the US,
well we dont have much option other than going to a temple :)

Though i missed my family and relatives bigtime, this Diwali was really
special for me. This is the first time i am spending a Diwali in the US.
(Nothing much to cherish in this). But what made it really special was
the live concert of "Sudha Ragunathan" that i attended. This was on
the eve of Diwali (Friday evening/night)

Ppl in the field of Carnatic music know that she is a Living Legend but
even for "gnana soonyams" like me who dont know "C" of Carnatic
music, she doesnt need any intro. I have seen her in Vijay TVs
"சிகரம் தொட்ட தமிழர்கள்" (and offlate in some "பரம்பரா பட்டு"
ad).

It was one of the items in my wishlist to be @ a live concert (though
not necessarily carnatic) and so i was really happy making it to her
concert. Just to add a small note, she is one of the very few ppl who
got good appreciation from the famous critic Subbudu
(குறை கண்டுபிடித்தே...)

It was organized by the Univ of Cincinnati students via their SABHA
community. First, hats off to them for putting up a great show.
I happened to c this Ad in a poster @ an Indian restaurant just hrs
before the event.

Myself and my friend Maniprakash decided to start early.Luckily we didnt
loose directions and were in the Univ auditorium pretty early. Show was
delayed by 30 mts but it was worth a wait ;-) (U know what i mean....
Come on, didnt i tell u that it was arranged by Univ students??)

She started at 7 PM with a keerthana and i should say the next 3.5 hrs
will be in my memory for a long time. The keerthanas and the bhakti
songs in her voice was simply divine. Man, what a talent. High Pitch,
Low pitch, Side pitch.. she just plays with those nuances... She also
accepted some "Song Requests" and sang some popular ones like
"குறை ஒன்றும் இல்லை" , "சின்னஞ்சிரு கிளியே" etc. We
were blessed to hear all this when ppl in India wake up for Diwali.
What timing :)




The folks on Violin/Mridangam and Morsing
who accompanied her were not newbies either.
They were simply superb too. I dont have
much words to say. I could feel that my mind
was light !!!

After the show, she spent a good 30 to 45
minutes signing autographs, talking casually
with all students/audience and posing for
pictures. Just made us wonder 'how come
someone with such talent can be so down-to-earth' ...

We had our share of snaps too. Something to cherish for a lifetime.

Another line item that made my Diwali special was the function @ the Hindu
temple here. Atleast some 400 ppl would have made it to the temple.
Crackers were arranged by the temple org free of cost.

It was a very pleasing sight to see ppl in all
traditional outfits and a LOT of kids (including
us, haha) bursting crackers. Overall, it was a
very new and a special Diwali experience for me.

கடந்த 5 மாசமாத்தான் தமிழ் blog எல்லாம் படிக்கிறேன். அட, ஆமா... 5 மாசமாத்தான் US-ல இருக்கேன். (ரென்டுத்துக்கும் ஏதோ சம்மந்தம் இருக்குற மாதிரி இல்ல?)

நான் இந்த site-அ ஆரம்பிச்சி ஒரு வருஷத்துக்கு மேல ஆனாலும் என்னோட சோம்பேரித்தனததால தொடர்ந்து

Hi Hi Hi Hi Hi Hi Hi...

well, its almost a year since i blogged. Guess, i should either change the name of this blog or write frequently !!! For now, i have chosen the latter :)

Ironically, i dint blog that much in a yr that had several major
events in my life, some of which are

1. Quitting my dream company

Joining this MNC was a dream when i was at college.
The fact that it became my first company was really a
"dream-come-true".
With the confidence that it gave in my 5 yr tenure, i decided
to quit and chase my next dream (USA) !!!

Mr.President, Dont mistake me. You only asked youth to dream :)


2. H1B

Well, this is the most mega event in my life. This was eating my
brain for more than a yr until i heard the voice from the visa consular
that said "Thank you sir,your visa is approved".
Man, such a relief :)))))))))

Not even a single day in my H1 pursuit i slept without thinking about it !!!

I would put up a seperate blog on this , not to discuss my struggles
but to share my experiences in getting a H1 and let ppl know
some "dos and donts".

3. USA

well,well,well.. here i am.. another "dream-come-true". I am into my
6th month here and time has just flew. I am working as a consultant
in cincinnati. I will put up another blog (hopefully with pictures) on my
experiences so far in this "dont use brains" country !!!

4. Niagara Falls

I have used it twice in this blog but still dreams are dreams...
this is another "dream-come-true" for me. A detailed blog on this
with pictures is due.

5. Car

Necessity is the mother of invention. Though i didnt invent anything, this
necessity of a car in US has made me buy a Nissan Altima and i am relishing
with my new car. Photos and a blog about it later.

OK. With a lot of backlogs, i am closing this blog for now.
